It's the first day of the new year! And we are still in Hong Kong! Auntie Lan Ee and hubby wanted to bring us around Hong Kong today. It won't be shopping tour but a nature tour on car! Lan Ee's hubby drove us around!
First we went to Lam Tsuen Wishing Trees (林村許願樹), to make a wish for the new year.
I've been here a few years ago. Now a lot have changed. Last time, we wrote our wishes on joss paper tied to an orange, then threw them up to hang in these trees. It was believed that if the paper successfully hung onto one of the tree branches, the wishes will come true. But due to the increase weight, the trees can't support it's branches anymore. So this practice was discouraged after 12 February 2005. What we saw now are wooden racks set up for the joss papers to be hung while a period of conservation is imposed to help these trees recover and flourish.
Kayden is super excited... So cute...
Then he drove us to see a beautiful lake named Bride's Pool ( 新娘潭) in northeastern New Territories.
Next stop to Tai Mei Tuk(大美督; commonly known as 大尾篤) in Tai Po District.
It is a very popular place for BBQ and cycling. It's a public holiday today so it's crowded with people. The BBQ food smells so NICE! Too bad, not for us!
See... how Kayden "perform stunts" to get attention!
I LOVE ICE-CREAM!
Kayden have his milk on the car before we proceed to the next place Sai Kung (西貢). He fall asleep on the way there...
We reached the "Seafood Street". It's a popular place for tourists to go for seafood at a very expensive price. The local wouldn't eat here! But the view is nice.
Breeze with a bit of sunshine. Kayden is sleeping so soundly...
Seafood! The big fat prawns... direct translate: Urining prawns. It spit water when out of water!
Kowloon Peak or Fei Ngo Shan (飛鵝山) is the next stop! It is a 602 m (1,975 ft) tall mountain in the northeast corner of New Kowloon, situated in Ma On Shan Country Park.
It's so windy and cold when we reached. Very nice view but it is very misty.
I've took a short video to show the view...
Going back down and Kayden is still sleeping... Sighz... Miss the view!
It's about Dinner time! Auntie Lan Ee suggested that we go there earlier. As the restaurant is one of the popular shop selling super nice roasted goose! So we go to Sham Tseng (深井, literally "deep well") is a coastal area in Tsuen Wan District.
On the way there, Kayden got car sick and vomited! Sighz... A big mess... We reached there to take quene number and wait for available table. My MIL is also on the way to join us for dinner.
Look at the queue! And more people behind.
While waiting, we went to take pictures. Hee... We also brought warm Vitasoy. ( 維他奶). I dunno whether is because of the cold weather or i'm a bit hungry, the drink is nice!
Finally got our table and food!
After Dinner, we went to nearby supermarket to do last min shopping then went home.
Ka Man, MIL and my mum plan to go for a late night movie and i'll stay home to take care of Kayden and pack luggage. But the show started 20 mins before they reached the cinema!
I'm so tired... Going back Singapore tomorrow!
